Day 28 of 31 scenes of terror - Graveyard Shift (1990)
A title I've been looking forward to adding to the list all month comes from a lesser known work of Stephen King that I absolutely love.
Graveyard Shift.
Based off the brilliant short story in King's first collection of short stories from Night Shift, it stuns me it took this long to have in my eyes one of the best stories from that entire book turned into a film. This was back when they were striking when the iron was hot. King was a house hold name by 1990 and the 80's were filled with his popular novels being turned into films. One after another kept being cranked out. Hot off the heels of Pet Sematary, Graveyard Shift is made almost with the same dark style with colorful characters, gory moments, and one hell of an ending.
With some great actors such as Brad Dourif and Stephen Macht (with his sexy over the top maine accent) this was a great movie that sadly was over shadowed due to what seemed like a rushed third act, and the time it was released in. A favorite of mine to watch around the 4th of July and of course Halloween.
