Top 30 moments in the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise

Top 30 moments in the Nightmare On Elm Street franchise

I decided to whip up a personal list of my top 30 moments from the Nightmare on elm street franchise due to the fact 2014 marks the 30th anniversary when the first film was released. A Nightmare On Elm Street holds a very special place in my heart since I believe it's the main reason I became such a horror fan. Long story short, I was terrified of these movies growing up, so badly in fact my mother bought me the Nightmare On Elm Street game just to prove to me that it was just pretend and that Freddy really wasn't real. Some kids my sister and I used to play with loved these movies, so much in fact that their daughter even had a Freddy themed birthday party with the claw coming out of the cake. I always refused to watch the first movie that always seemed to be on at their house. Finally I decided at the age of 10 or 11 to quit being a pussy so me and the son of the family went into the den and watched the movie. The way I looked at it was if I finally watched this movie, or watched it enough I would know what to expect and wouldn't be so scared. There I remember sitting on the edge of my seat and when Tina get dragged across the ceiling I found myself shouting "TURN ON THE LIGHT! TURN IT ON!" There I was stunned, did I really want these characters to turn on the light so I could see better? Did I really want this woman ripped apart? From that moment I was hooked.

The Nightmare On Elm Street films have played a huge part on my life. It's by far my favorite series, and I have been collecting VHS copies, DVD's, shoes, blu-rays, figures, posters, and even books based off these movies for years. It's been a favorite to always re-watch, geek out about, and even meet actors who have been involved in the film. Hell, I've even dressed up as two of my dream warriors so far and was even Freddy for Halloween when I was in middle school. So after long and careful thought, I finally decided to narrow down my favorite moments from the films, and yes even the TV series. So here it is, my top 30 moments from the Elm street franchise.
